Usman Institute of Technology Organizes Seminar on Character Building
In pursuance of its commitment to providing state of art education and training, the country’s top technology institution, Usman Institute of Technology, Karachi organized a seminar on character building for its students and faculty.
UIT is committed to providing quality education and training in the field of science and technology and equally emphasizes on character building and strong interpersonal skills. The event comes in connection with the institute’s ambition to transforming Pakistan’s technology and corporate landscape by inducting cutting-edge innovation and learned professionals. It aimed at leading students onto their path to transforming into better human beings and responsible citizens.
The first session of the character building series, titled, ‘Top qualities employers look for in you’ dealt with encouraging positive personality traits in students. Seasoned author, Mr. Bashir Jumma was the guest speaker of the session who talked about positive personality traits, ethical and moral values employers look for in prospective employees in addition to technical skills. He apprised students of ways to transform into professional who are more likely to be picked at job interviews as well as emerge as successful professionals in their lives. Around 150 Students and Faculty members attended the session to benefit from the knowledge and experience of the veteran scholar.
Dr. Zahir Ali Syed, Director UIT, while delivering the end note speech said: ‘You should always act as character educators. As teachers, parents or administrators, you should strive to shape the character of students you come in contact with. Quality character education helps institution create a safe, caring and inclusive learning environment for every student and supports wholesome development. It fosters qualities that will help students to be responsible citizens and professionals.”
The institute has hinted at holding more than 12 such sessions per semester, which will cover vital topic such as Industrial Awareness, Counseling, and Motivation etc. Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) also reiterated its commitment to continue to explore newer ways of imparting quality education and training to its students.
