Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Winner Announced at the National Open Polo Championship 2016
As part of its longstanding commitment to nurturing sports in Pakistan, Bank Alfalah announced the winner of the Rising Talent Award at the National Open Polo Championship 2016. The Bank Alfalah ‘Rising Talent’ award was won in the 2-4 categoryby Raja TaimurNadeem, a person with disabilities. The emerging player of the season for -2-0 category went to Ali Noor Elahi, 0-2 category award was lifted by Agha Musa, while the most valuable Pakistan player went to Saqib Khan Khakwani.
Out of the six contending teams participating in the most prestigious event on the national polo calendar, Diamond Paints emerged as the winner trouncing Dollar East/Master Paints by 6-4 in the final played at the jam-packed Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Wednesday.The other four teams participating in the championship included Army Remounts, Master Paints/Habib Metro, Learning Alliance and SabihaAnees.

The tournament has been played for 48 years now and over the years, has gained immense popularity among the local and international polo communities attracting professional players and umpires from abroad and scores of spectators.
