Amidst the ongoing COVID-19\npandemic, Uber, the global ride-hailing giant that seamlessly connects drivers\nto riders, has announced the launch of Uber Delivery in Lahore and\nIslamabad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the current preventative\nmeasures being taken in different cities of Pakistan due to the COVID-19\nthreat, there is a dire need for services for basic groceries, medicines, and\nnecessity items for the citizens observing social distancing at their homes.\nUber Delivery has made it possible for Uber partner-drivers to take delivery\norders of a certain cash value, which in addition to bringing the convenience,\nis also in return giving the drivers an opportunity to earn an income during\nthese economically turbulent times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the company has guided\nthe partner-drivers to undertake standard safety and sanitization measures\nduring and after deliveries, in accordance with the directives issued by local\nauthorities, and the delivery service\u2019s availability will also be subject to\nthe mandate given by them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding this initiative, Uber\nPakistan\u2019s GM Saad N. Pall commented, \u201cIn these difficult times, we are trying\nour best to prioritize the safety and well-being of the communities we operate in,\u201d He further\nadded, \u201cBasic necessities from local convenience stores will be delivered to\nthe doorstep via the new Uber Delivery option in the app. With this initiative,\nwe intend to offer our services to bring some degree of ease and play our part\nin standing strong to help contain the spread of the virus, whilst providing\ndrivers on the platform with an earning opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
