The National Incubation Center \u2013 a partnership between\nMinistry of Information Technology and Telecom, Ignite, Jazz and Teamup \u2013\ngraduated its third and fourth cohort of thirty-two innovative tech startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After 12 months of incubation at the innovation hub, including\nrigorous trainings, one-on-one mentoring sessions, access to industry experts\nand investors, most of these startups are now commercially growing and scaling\ntheir business to create positive economic and social impact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ten of the thirty-two graduating startups received \u201cStars of\nNIC and Jazz Xlr8\u201d awards. These were awarded on the basis of investment\nraised, revenue generated and social impact created. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAlthough\nwe are celebrating the graduating startups here today, we are also celebrating\nthe three year collaboration between Jazz and the government of Pakistan for\nthe NIC. Scale comes from joining hands and from public private partnerships.\nThis is how our vision of a truly #DigitalPakistan will become a reality,\u201d said\nAamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
NIC has on-boarded over 162 startups in 7 cohorts, with over\n300 founders, creating over 5000 jobs, and generating investments of over PKR\n500 Million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\ncongratulate those graduating today in making Pakistan\u2019s innovation space\nrobust and sustainable in its impact,\u201d he further added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Secretary IT, applauding the startups\non their passion, focus and determination, commented:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is overwhelming to\nsee how IT is acting as an enabler across different industries, and startups\nare building on it to revolutionize sectors and contribute positively towards\nthe economy\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Junaid Imam, CEO of Ignite, while addressing the graduating\nstartups, commented, \u201cThe startup ecosystem is\nthriving, and we are all set to make it a strong pillar of Digital Pakistan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The national incubation center has startups from\ndiverse genres including Health-tech, Ed-Tech, Fin-Tech, assistive technologies\nand artificial intelligence among others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aamer Ejaz, Chief Digital & Strategy Officer of\nJazz said, \u201cWe are committed to playing our part in supporting the startup\necosystem and empowering the youth to build a progressive and digital Pakistan\nthrough the NIC and Jazz xlr8. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ceremony also marked the completion of three years of the\nNational Incubation Centre, Islamabad. This achievement poses a promising\nfuture for entrepreneurial initiatives to flourish in the country, and the NIC\nwill continue to strive forward in playing an integral role in the ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Parvez Abbasi, Project Director at NIC, on this occasion\nremarked on the exponential growth witnessed by the ecosystem and appreciated\nhow young talent is playing its role in shaping the future of Pakistan<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPakistan has immense talent, and through initiatives like\nthe NIC, we can empower the youth to come up with innovative solutions to\ndaunting challenges faced by Pakistan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a part of its vision to boost the ecosystem for more\nopportunities, NIC on this occasion launched an \u2018NIC Startup Community App\u2019,\nwith an aim of providing a platform for investors, startups, partners and\nmentors to connect with each other.[1]<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zouhair Khaliq, Co-Founder Teamup on the completion of three\nyears of NIC commented, \u201cThe startup eco-system in Pakistan has really matured\nin the last few years, and NIC has been pivotal in creating a sustained impact\nto develop and nurture innovative entrepreneurs and startups.\u201d
