Maleeka Bokhari, Parliamentary\nSecretary for the Ministry of Law and Justice delivered the opening keynote\nspeech at a panel discussion on, \u201cMulti-Stakeholder Approach for Innovation in\nDelivering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),\u201d organised by Code for\nPakistan, Jazz and OPEN Islamabad here on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This panel event was a precursor\nto the upcoming SDG Hackathon 2019<\/a> on the 6th, 7th and 8th of December, and the Women\nSDG Challenge Cup 2019<\/a> on 8th December. The three-day\nevent by Jazz in partnership with Code for Pakistan and OPEN Islamabad will be\nheld at the National Incubation Center Islamabad. The event will be attended by\ndigital bloggers, tech analysts and aspiring entrepreneurs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The SDG Hackathon is a\ncommunity-building endeavor, and aims to promote creativity, innovation and\ncivic engagement, while also spreading awareness about the Sustainable\nDevelopment Goals and about the potential use of technology and digital tools\nto address social and civic issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In her speech, Maleeha Bokhari\npraised the Hackathon as a way to engage youth, foster innovation and support\nthe government in delivering the Sustainable Development Goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s heartening to see young\npeople engaged in the process of delivering the SDGs. I strongly believe that\nyoung people are agents of change,\u201d said Ms Bokhari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She also spoke at length about how\nthe Pakistan Citizen Portal is an example of innovation and the use of technology\nto better serve citizens. She highlighted efforts on part of KP government to\nhelp communities through technology.
