{"id":6761,"date":"2019-08-22T12:05:29","date_gmt":"2019-08-22T12:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.digitaldips.pk\/?p=6761"},"modified":"2019-08-22T12:05:34","modified_gmt":"2019-08-22T12:05:34","slug":"telenor-pakistan-significant-payment-license-renewal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.digitaldips.pk\/index.php\/2019\/08\/22\/telenor-pakistan-significant-payment-license-renewal\/","title":{"rendered":"Telenor Pakistan To Make Significant Payment Towards License Renewal To Reaffirm Its Commitment To Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In order to reaffirm its commitment to the country,\nTelenor Pakistan, while preserving its legal rights, has offered to make a\nsubstantial payment of USD 224.6 million to the Government to ensure continuity\nof services and preserve rights of over 44 million valued customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GSM license of Telenor Pakistan which was to be\nrenewed by 25 May 2019 had been delayed by PTA and faces further delays due to\nunfair demands on pricing and rollout obligations, which may significantly\ndistort the competitive landscape in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Telenor Pakistan has been very keen towards a timely renewal of its telecom license and, in the past two years, tried its utmost towards a fair and transparent outcome. The company\u2019s efforts in this regard sought to not only provide seamless telecom and digital services to the people of Pakistan but also contribute to the national exchequer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Telenor Pakistan shall continue to pursue its legal case to fully protect its rights available under law, in order to have a final resolution of the matter.
