Telenor Pakistan\u2019s digital startup\naccelerator programme, Telenor Velocity, signed a contract with Google to\nlaunch its first ever gaming cohort aimed at accelerating\nthe game developers. Game Launcher is a\nprogramme for top indie game studios who are looking to build, scale &\nmonetize best-in-class mobile games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like most\ndeveloping technology areas, game development\nrequires learning and mentoring. To bridge the\ngap, Telenor Pakistan has joined hands with Google to bring in the world\u2019s top\ngaming gurus to speak and mentor at game\ndevelopment workshops. Most of these training\nsessions will be held at Telenor Pakistan Campus 345 which serves as an\ninnovation hub and has been recognized for its enabling and inclusive working\nenvironment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will be 4 workshops hosted by\nTelenor Velocity\u2019s Game Launcher in which gurus from Google and global gaming\nindustry will educate Velocity\u2019s gaming cohort on how to develop games and\nmonetize them.Telenor Velocity and Google are targeting Pakistan\u2019s aspiring and upcoming game developers\nto uplift their skills and bring the next multi-million dollar games from\nPakistan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telenor Velocity\u2019s Game Launcher\nprogram has opened for applications through online registration after which 25\nteams will be shortlisted. There will be three rounds over a period of 8 months\nand in every round a few teams will be eliminated with the rest proceeding to\nthe next level. At the end of the program, top 7 teams will travel to Singapore\nGoogle HQ to pitch their games to potential investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Telenor Velocity\u2019s first thematic\nAgriTech cohort onboarded three startups in April 2019. Picked out of 64\napplicants, these finalists include Pak Zar Zameen, Good Earth, and Pak Agri\nMarket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pak Zar Zameen provides low-cost\nprecision agriculture services and crop health analyses making early detection\nof crop stress, identification of intra-field variability, monitoring of\neffects of a specific tasks possible among other things. Good Earth provides a\ndigital ecosystem for farm mechanization offering tracker services and doorstep\ndelivery of farming machinery, and trainings and certifications of service\nproviders. Pak Agri Market provides a directory for agri shops across Pakistan\noffering a centralized shop and product directory with reviews and ratings,\nensuring farmers\u2019 access to quality, tested products at competitive pricing. By\nbeing a part of Velocity\u2019s agri-tech cohort, these startups will be getting\naccess to necessary tools and insights to scale their ventures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
