As mobile devices, high-speed\ninternet and videoconferencing technology become more widespread, telecommuting\njobs are also becoming more common. The biggest global corporations like\nApple, Google and Dell value work-life balance believing that there does not need to be a conflict between\nwork and life at home, rather a collaboration. Realizing\nthe benefits that working from home brings to employees and the environment,\nJazz launched its flexible work policy, \u2018Jazz Flex\u2019, last year in which\nemployees can spend a day working from home every week. After a successful\npilot phase, the program is now extended to the employees nationwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although Jazz Flex is available\nfor all employees, the program is mainly focused towards working mothers. While\nwomen and men are starting to more equally share the care-giving\nresponsibilities of raising children, women still bear the lion’s share of\nthose responsibilities. Jazz decided to help moms spread out their work in ways\nthat allows them to spend quality time with their family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Jazz Flex\u2019s pilot phase,\nfeedback from employees was very positive with most of them listing saving time\nand money, lower stress levels, increased work satisfaction and productivity as\nthe major benefits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To celebrate Jazz Flex\u2019s\nnationwide launch, employees at Jazz were asked to share pictures of how they\nspend their time working \u2018on Flex\u2019.
