{"id":6337,"date":"2019-03-27T01:30:03","date_gmt":"2019-03-27T01:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.digitaldips.pk\/?p=6337"},"modified":"2019-03-27T01:30:23","modified_gmt":"2019-03-27T01:30:23","slug":"ptcl-ministry-of-climate-change-collaborate-for-a-green-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.digitaldips.pk\/index.php\/2019\/03\/27\/ptcl-ministry-of-climate-change-collaborate-for-a-green-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"PTCL &#038; Ministry Of Climate Change Collaborate For A Green Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pakistan Telecommunication\nCompany Limited (PTCL) and Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC), Government of\nPakistan, have signed an agreement to support the Clean Green Pakistan Movement.\nThis collaboration will enable to tackle issues of low forest cover and poor\ncleanliness in urban &amp; rural areas of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under this MoU, PTCL and MoCC\nagreed upon afforestation of 200,000 trees across PTCL sites in the next five\nyears. The MoU was signed by Syed Mazhar Hussain, Chief Human Resource Officer,\nPTCL and Babar Hayat Tarar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Climate Change,\nfollowed by plantation of saplings at PTCL HQ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, PTCL will initiate\ncleanliness drives in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad to assist the solid waste\nmanagement. In the initial phase, the company pledges to ban non-recyclable\nplastics in PTCL HQ in Islamabad. The company shall also arrange clean drinking\nwater for its employees in connection with its resolve to implement health care\nand better environment to the workforce. Moreover, PTCL will also install\nfiltration units to provide clean drinking water for the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the occasion, Ms. Zartaj Gul\nWazir, State Minister for Climate Change, said, \u201cWe are glad to collaborate\nwith PTCL on Clean Green Pakistan Movement, which is to create awareness across\nthe country regarding the importance of environmental preservation. PTCL has\ninitiated a comprehensive awareness campaign on converting customers from paper\nbill to eBilling, which is a step in the right direction. As a nation, we need\nto come together to tackle issues like pollution and low forest cover. Under\nthe Prime Minister Imran Khan\u2019s vision of clean and green Pakistan, partnerships\nlike this are going to pave the way in achieving our objective.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the occasion, Rashid Khan, President\nand CEO, PTCL, said, \u201cAs a national company, it is our responsibility to\nsupport Clean Green Pakistan Movement. We are happy to collaborate with\nMinistry of Climate Change to create awareness and conduct trainings on\nenvironmental preservation. To promote this initiative, our teams across\nPakistan will be executing afforestation campaigns.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, PTCL has partnered\nwith WWF for plantation of200,000 mangrove seeds in Balochistan, as part of the\nconservation organizations nationwide tree plantation campaign, called \u2018Rung Do\u2019.\nPTCL HQ is also Green Office certified by WWF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, the company has also\ntaken steps to ensure that numerous avenues are open for customers to opt for eBilling\nlike PTCL website, Touch App and helpline 1218, to go paperless and save trees.\n\nPTCL is constantly\ncontributing towards saving the environment and a greener Pakistan.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC), Government of Pakistan, have signed an agreement to support the Clean Green Pakistan Movement.
