The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)\nhosted its Annual Book Fair as book lovers thronged to Gad and Birgit Rausing\nLibrary\u2019s annual book fair held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. The aim of the\nbook fair is to help nurture and build a love for reading among\nstudents, staff and faculty by providing them with easy access to a wide range\nof quality fiction and non-fiction books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nfair was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Moeen Nizami – Gurmani Centre for Languages\nand Literature, who also visited various bookstalls along with Dr. Nadeem\nSiddique, HoD LUMS Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Noted\nliterary personalities, such as Amjad Islam Amjad, Neelam Ahmad Bashir, Sajjad\nMir, Bushra Ejaz and others visited the bookstalls, interacted with students\nand shared their desire to promote the culture of learning through reading\nbooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting\non the success of the event, Dr. Siddique said, \u201cOur youth is our future and\nour national success depends a great deal upon their individual growth and\nachievements. Such events are important, as they not only help broaden one\u2019s\nvision and horizons but they also contribute immensely towards the growth and\ndevelopment of our younger generations by inculcating in them a love for\nreading and the pursuit of knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This\nbook fair is an annual tradition and this year\u2019s fair exhibited books by\nleading local and international booksellers and publishers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
