Sigve Brekke, President and CEO of Telenor Group, met with the President of Pakistan to reiterate Telenor\u2019s commitment to realizing the ambition of a digital Pakistan. Mr. Brekke visited Pakistan to visit the new Telenor Pakistan campus in Islamabad called \u2018345\u2019, the original prefix for Telenor numbers in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
During his meeting with the Honorable President of Pakistan Mr. Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Mr. Brekke acknowledged the Pakistani government\u2019s efforts to create a conducive environment for the growth of telecom sector.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the role of telecommunication sector in Pakistan, President Mamnoon Hussain said, \u201cUnprecedented development is being undertaken in Pakistan in various sectors including health, education, economy and agriculture by utilizing Telecommunication\u00a0technology which is resulting in further progress and economic stability of the country. The significant changes are being witnessed in telecommunication sector after the introduction of 3G and 4G in the country.\u201d He further said. \u201cTelenor in collaboration with the Pakistani universities can also establish research centers for the promotion of research in the field of telecommunication.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cWe are proud of Telenor Pakistan and our twelve years of history here.
